FAQ

Questions from residents and embassy staff

Can I use Japanese National Health Insurance at Rodin?

No. Rodin is a private clinic outside Japan's public insurance system, so treatment is charged at private-care rates. If you have private or international insurance, we provide English documents for your claim.

How does the diplomatic tax exemption work when I pay?

Present both your valid Tax Exemption Card and your Identification Card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the time of payment. When both cards are presented, treatment is provided without the 10% consumption tax, in line with the conditions on the card.

Can several family members be seen on the same day?

You can ask for appointments for several family members on the same day when you book. We will confirm which times are available in our reply.

We are leaving Japan. Can we take our dental records with us?

Yes. Let us know before you move and we will prepare copies of your records and X-ray images in English for your next dentist.

How often should we come in for a check-up?

For most adults and children, every 3 to 6 months. Your dentist sets the interval at your examination based on your gum health and risk of decay.
