Risks & side effects
Main risks & side effects
- No enamel is removed (no-prep), though minor surface conditioning may be needed for bonding
- Feldspathic porcelain is highly aesthetic but more fragile than pressed ceramics; chipping or cracking is possible under excessive force
- Risk of detachment over time; rebonding may be required
- Temporary sensitivity after bonding is possible
- Colour is matched before bonding and cannot be adjusted afterwards; whitening must be completed before veneer fabrication
- Regular night guard use is strongly recommended
- Rarely, a remake may be necessary if fit or aesthetics are unsatisfactory
