Risks & side effects

Main risks & side effects

  • No enamel is removed (no-prep), though minor surface conditioning may be needed for bonding
  • Feldspathic porcelain is highly aesthetic but more fragile than pressed ceramics; chipping or cracking is possible under excessive force
  • Risk of detachment over time; rebonding may be required
  • Temporary sensitivity after bonding is possible
  • Colour is matched before bonding and cannot be adjusted afterwards; whitening must be completed before veneer fabrication
  • Regular night guard use is strongly recommended
  • Rarely, a remake may be necessary if fit or aesthetics are unsatisfactory

Self-pay (non-insured) treatment. Individual results vary. Published with the patient's written consent.
